Sophie Yendole

President

Sophie trained as an actor at UBC (where she met Val!) and brings several years of experience working in theatre, dance, inclusion, education and community development to her position on the Board with Some Assembly.  Sophie worked as Artist in Residence(VSB) and as an Outreach Worker with VSB Adult Education in the Downtown Eastside and she currently works for PLAN, a non-profit advocating with people who are socially isolated due to disability. With a passion for interdisciplinary creation, Sophie, as a poet and performer, has also collaborated with musicians, visual and textile artists to create installations and performances around Vancouver over the last decade. She is passionate about supporting self-expression as a form of personal development. Sophie’s love for theatre has shaped her life from a young age and her favourite event is attending Some Assembly’s annual production, which she looks forward to sharing with her two children this year! Sophie is excited to support these amazing youth and their innovative work with Val and the whole team by having the honour of sitting on this Board.
